Teen boys and sex
It is disturbing to me how mean some boys are to girls who give them the sex they want. Young girls who start having sex and with multiple partners put themselves at risk for abuse. Mean boys and predators seek out these girls. Mean boys become adult predators. Many TV shows are contributing to these unhealthy behaviors. Girls often have a hard time recovering. It affects their self worth, education, friendships, family relationships……..We have to find a way to stop girls from thinking they must have a boy friend, must have sex, must give up anything for male attention. It is a vicious cycle with life long consequences.

Greenhouse
I’m about to embark on building a greenhouse using cattle panels and plastic; a lean to against my house at the concrete patio. I once built a large type of structure when I raised sheep and it worked great. It stayed very warm and the wind didn’t bother it too bad. I don’t know why I have this urge to grow things right now, the farm girl in me is alive and well.
Red Lentils
I discovered Red Split Lentils at Aldi’s. I made the soup recipe, with some of my own additions, like cabbage, herbs, peppers……and put it in the crock pot! Wow great vegetable soup high in iron, protein and fiber, most of all delicious.
Women
We, many of us, mothers, give and do, give and do………..do we breed selfish children? Without a man, husband, partner who gives and does for us, I have come to believe those around us expect and learn to be cared for by others. Where do they learn to be grateful and a helpmate if they don’t see action or participate in a family who has this behavior naturally?
Teen Marijuana Use
It is concerning that teens are smoking marijuana more and daily. Working with teens daily, I can say I know this behavior leads to school failure, missed days in school, laziness, and all due to the depression it leads to in these students. We are experiencing more students with mental health issues, bipolar, anxiety, and depression.
High School
There are many interesting things I am experiencing with my high school students. Students do not know how to follow instructions that require a time lapse. Students are not as responsible as they could, should be. Students can not simply add minutes and convert to hours. Now, I am generalizing here, but I can tell you more tomorrow about the outcome of my students who will be turning in their “peer helping” minutes/hours to receive money to help pay two years of college tuition. If you can’t do or won’t do the simple things above, are you ready for college?
Bank Information
Watch your bank accounts. We recently had one of our debit card numbers stolen and made into a new card. It was swiped at a Walmart to purchase a Walmart gift card which was redeemed out of state. The customer service rep at Walmart was very helpful and kind. We have reported it to the bank, local police, FTC, and the credit bureau.
